 Ragi Puttu




In this post, let’s see how to make healthy ragi puttu. This ragi puttu can be given for kids as breakfast or even as an evening snack. Ragi is very healthy, good for bones and helps in treating anaemia. Friends, do give a try to this healthy recipe and share your valuable feedback.


Ingredients:

Ragi flour - 1 cup

Salt - 1/4 tsp

Water - 1/4 cup

Grated coconut - 1/4 cup

Jaggery - 1/4 cup







Recipe:

  1. In a bowl, add ragi flour and little salt.
  2. Mix well with your hand.
  3. Now sprinkle water little by little until you could hold shape. (Check video if you have any doubt)
  4. Take a puttu stand and layer 1 tbsp of coconut  and jaggery.
  5. Add in ragi flour until 1/3 rd of the stand.
  6. Repeat layering with coconut , jaggery and ragi flour.
  7. Boil water in puttu making vessel or you can also keep the puttu stand above pressure cooker(as I have shown in the video).
  8. Now steam cook for around 10-15 minutes until you see steam coming out well from the nozzle of the puttu stand.
  9. Remove from the stove and push the puttu out using back side of the spoon.
  10. Tasty and healthy ragi puttu is ready! It can be had as such as it tastes sweet, doesn’t require any separate side dish.
