How to make simple dhal | Simple dhal tadka in 10 minutes| Easy side dish for rice and chapathi

 Simpla Dhal Tadka



In this post, we are going to see how to make simple dhal tadka quickly in a span of 10 minutes. This goes well with hot rice, chapathi with just a pickle on the side. Friends, do give a try to this easy and simple recipe and share your valuable feedback.


Ingredients:

Toor dhal - 1/2 cup

Water - as required

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Hing - 1/4 tsp

Salt - as required

Ghee - 1 tbsp

Mustard - 1/2 tsp

Jeera/Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

Red Chilly powder - 3 to 4

Curry leaves - few




Recipe:

  1. Add washed toor dhal along with  water, turmeric powder and hing in a pressure cooker.
  2. Pressure cook for around 3 -4 whistles until soft.
  3. Once the pressure is released, check if the dhal is cooked well.
  4. Mash well with a spoon.
  5. Add water to adjust consistency.
  6. Add required salt.
  7. Simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. In a separate pan, add little ghee.
  9. Once it’s hot, add mustard seeds. Let it splutter.
  10. Add cumin seeds, red chilly and few curry leaves.
  11. Fry and add this tadka to cooked dhal.
  12. Thats it. Yummy and quick dhal tadka is ready!
