Nan khatai
In this post, let’s see how to make Indian famous biscuit ie Nan khatai. Friends, do give a try to this tasty, bakery style recipe and share your valuable feedback.
Yields - 30 ( approximately)
Baking temperature - 160 degree Celsius
Baking time : 20-25minutes
Ingredients :
All purpose flour/ maida - 1 cup
Besan flour - 1/2 cup
Sooji/ semolina - 2 tbsp
Salt - a pinch
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Powdered sugar - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 1/2 cup + 3 tsp
Recipe :
- In a bowl, add all purpose flour, besan flour, sooji ,powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, baking powder, cardamom powder.
- Mix well.
- Now add melted ghee and mix until it form a smooth dough.
- Add more ghee if required.
- Now pinch a small portion of the dough and shape into round ball.
- Flatten it slightly and arrange in the baking tray.
- Make a slight cross at the centre and garnish with chopped nuts on top.
- Preheat the oven to 160 degree Celsius and bake for around 20-25 minutes.(For me it took around 22 minutes)
- Once it’s cool down , remove and store it air tight container.
- Tasty nan khatai is ready !
