Cheppankizhangu Fry
In this post, let’s see how to make a crispy, tasty cheppankizhangu fry. Though its a vegetarian dish, the taste resembles much similar to a non veg fry. This tasty cheppankizhangu fry goes well with hot rice, sambar and rasam. Friends, do give a try to this recipe and share your feedback.
Ingredients:
Cheppankizhangu - 350 gm
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Salt - as required
Rice powder - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Oil - 2-3 tbsp
Curry leaves - few
Recipe:
- Wash cheppankizhangu well in water.
- Add these cheppankizhangu in pressure cooker along with little water and cook for 1 whistle.
- Once the pressure releases, remove the cheppankizhangu from water and let it cool down.
- Remove the skin and cut into pieces.
- Marinate with all the spice powders mentioned above( turmeric, chilly, coriander, rice powder and ginger garlic paste).
- Add little water if required and marinate for around 10 minutes.
- Now add little oil in a pan.
- Add few curry leaves and the marinated kizhangu.
- Shallow fry these at low flame for around 10 minutes until the outer turns crisp.(Turn sides occasionally)
- Crispy, tasty cheppankizhangu fry is ready! It goes well with rice, sambar, rasam.
