 Cheppankizhangu Fry




In this post, let’s see how to make a crispy, tasty cheppankizhangu fry. Though its a vegetarian dish, the taste resembles much similar to a non veg fry. This tasty cheppankizhangu fry goes well with hot rice, sambar and rasam. Friends, do give a try to this recipe and share your feedback.


Ingredients:

Cheppankizhangu - 350 gm

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Chilly powder - 1 tsp

Coriander powder - 2 tsp

Salt - as required

Rice powder - 1 tsp

Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

Oil - 2-3 tbsp

Curry leaves - few


Recipe:

  1. Wash cheppankizhangu well in water.
  2. Add these cheppankizhangu in pressure cooker along with little water and  cook for 1 whistle.
  3. Once the pressure releases, remove the cheppankizhangu from water and let it cool down.
  4. Remove the skin and cut into pieces.
  5. Marinate with all the spice powders mentioned above( turmeric, chilly, coriander, rice powder and ginger garlic paste).
  6. Add little water if required and marinate for around 10 minutes.
  7. Now add little oil in a pan.
  8. Add few curry leaves and the marinated kizhangu.
  9. Shallow fry these at low flame for around 10 minutes until the outer turns crisp.(Turn sides occasionally)
  10. Crispy, tasty cheppankizhangu fry is ready! It goes well with rice, sambar, rasam.
