 Paneer Butter Masala

Ingredients:

Oil - 2 tbsp

Onion - 1 1/2

Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

Tomatoes - 2 

Cashews - 6 to 8

Butter - 2 tbsp

Bay leaf - 1 

Salt - as required 

Paneer - 150 gm

Garam masala - 1/2 tsp

Sugar - 1 tsp

Chopped coriander leaves - little (for garnishing)

Kasthuri methi leaves - little (for garnishing)

Fresh cream - 2 tbsp 


Recipe:

  1. In a pan, add little oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot enough, add onions and little salt to fasten the cooking of onions.
  3. Saute until translucent.
  4. Add a tsp of ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell leaves.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes, few cashew nuts and saute until mushy.
  6. Remove from the stove and let it cool down.
  7. Now grind this to a fine paste and keep it aside.
  8. In a pan, add little butter.
  9. Let it melt.
  10. Now add bay leaf and chilly powder.
  11. Mix for 10 seconds at low flame. Take care not to burn the chilly powder.
  12. Now add in the ground puree and mix well.
  13. Add required salt and water to adjust the consistency.
  14. Now add paneer cubes.
  15. Cover and simmer it for around 5 minutes.
  16. Add garam masala, little sugar and simmer for 1 minute.
  17. Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves and kasthuri methi leaves.
  18. Yummy, creamy paneer butter masala is ready to enjoy !
