 Kerala Style Coconut Chutney




In this post, let’s see how to make Kerala thattukada style thengai/coconut chutney. This chutney goes well with kal dosa, uthappam and idly. Friends, do give try this recipe and share your valuable feedback.


Ingredients:

Coconut - 1 cup

Red Chilly - 2

Shallot - 1 

Ginger - small piece

Tamarind - small piece

Salt - to taste


For seasoning :

Oil - 1 tbsp

Mustard - 1/2 tsp

Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp

Red chilly - 1

Curry leaves - few




Recipe:

  1. In a mixie jar, add coconut pieces, red chilly, shallot, small piece of ginger and tamarind.
  2. Add required salt and grind.
  3. Transfer to a bowl.
  4. Add water to adjust consistency.
  5. For seasoning , in  a pan, add little oil.
  6. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  7. Add urad dhal, red chilly, few curry leaves.
  8. Fry well and add it to the chutney.
  9. Kerala thattukada style coconut chutney is ready. It goes well with kal dosa, uthappam and idly.
