Kerala Style Coconut Chutney
In this post, let’s see how to make Kerala thattukada style thengai/coconut chutney. This chutney goes well with kal dosa, uthappam and idly. Friends, do give try this recipe and share your valuable feedback.
Ingredients:
Coconut - 1 cup
Red Chilly - 2
Shallot - 1
Ginger - small piece
Tamarind - small piece
Salt - to taste
For seasoning :
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp
Red chilly - 1
Curry leaves - few
Recipe:
- In a mixie jar, add coconut pieces, red chilly, shallot, small piece of ginger and tamarind.
- Add required salt and grind.
- Transfer to a bowl.
- Add water to adjust consistency.
- For seasoning , in a pan, add little oil.
- Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
- Add urad dhal, red chilly, few curry leaves.
- Fry well and add it to the chutney.
- Kerala thattukada style coconut chutney is ready. It goes well with kal dosa, uthappam and idly.
