Sweet Potato Poori
In this post, let’s see how to make sweet potato poori. This is made using boiled sweet potato and wheat flour. For flavour, cumin seeds and chilly powder is added. Friends, do give a try to this sweet and spicy tasted poori and share your valuable feedback.
Ingredients:
Boiled sweet potato - 1 cup
Wheat flour - 1 1/4 cup
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as required
Oil - for deep frying
Recipe:
- In a bowl, add boiled sweet potato, wheat flour, cumin seeds, chilly powder, salt and mix well.
- Knead everything to a soft dough. No need to add water. The moisture content in sweet potato would be suffice. If needed, you could just sprinkle little water.
- Let the dough rest for around 15 minutes.
- Take a small portion of the dough and shape into round ball.
- Dust little flour and flatten it using a rolling pin.
- Shape into small circle.
- Deep fry in hot oil.
- Press with the spoon slightly in order to puff up.
- Turn sides when one side is done.
- Finally drain in a tissue paper.
- Hot tasty sweet potato poori is ready!
- You can even have it as such or with any curry of your choice.
