Ingredients:

Butter - 1/2 cup (100gm)

Sugar - 3/4 cup

Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp

Egg - 2

All purpose flour - 1 cup

Baking powder - 1/2 tsp

Baking soda - 1/4 tsp

Salt - 1/4 tsp

Orange zest - 1 tbsp

Orange juice - 1/2 cup


Recipe:

  1. Grease the baking tray with oil/butter, line it with a parchment sheet and keep it aside.
  2. Beat butter using an electric beater until soft. Make sure to keep the butter out at room temperature for 2-3 hours before beating.
  3. Add sugar, vanilla essence and beat until nice and creamy.
  4. Now sift all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
  5. Add orange zest .
  6. Mix everything well with a spatula.
  7. Add orange juice little by little to adjust the consistency.
  8. Now pour the cake batter in the greased baking tray.
  9. Preheat the oven and bake at 180 degree celsius for 40-45 minutes.
  10. Check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick. It should come out clean.
  11. Once it’s cooled down, remove from the pan and cut into slices.
  12. Tasty orange pound cake is ready to enjoy!
