Lemon Pound Cake
Ingredients:
Butter - 1/2 cup (100gm)
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
Egg - 2
All purpose flour - 1 cup
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Lemon zest - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Buttermilk - 1/3 cup
Recipe:
- Grease the baking tray with oil/butter, line it with a parchment sheet and keep it aside.
- Beat butter using an electric beater until soft. Make sure to keep the butter out at room temperature for 2-3 hours before beating.
- Add sugar, vanilla essence and beat until nice and creamy.
- Now sift all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
- Add lemon zest and lemon juice.
- Now beat at low speed until everything is well combined.
- Add buttermilk little by little to adjust the consistency.
- Mix everything well.
- Now pour the cake batter in the greased baking tray.
- Preheat the oven and bake at 180 degree celsius for 40-45 minutes.
- Check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick. It should come out clean.
- Once it’s cooled down, remove from the pan and cut into slices.
- Tasty lemon pound cake is ready to enjoy!
