In this post, let’s see how to make bakery style vegetable puff easily at home. Vegetable puff is one of the best evening time snack with hot cup of tea/ coffee. Here in this recipe, I have used store bought pastry sheets for making vegetable puff. But I will upload a separate post on how to make pastry sheets at home. Serves: 8-10 people
Ingredients:
Oil - 1.5 tbsp
Curry leaves - few
Onion - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Beans - 8 to 10
Carrot - 1
Green peas - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Boiled potato - 3
Salt - as required
Tomato ketchup - 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander leaves - few
Pastry sheet
Milk - for brushing
Recipe:
- In a pan, add little oil.
- Add few curry leaves and finely chopped onion.
- Add little salt to fasten the cooking of onion.
- Saute until translucent.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell leaves.
- Add finely chopped beans, carrot, green peas and mix well.
- Now add turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala and saute for around 1 minute.
- Add little water.
- Cover and cook until soft.
- Now add boiled potato.
- Add required salt.
- Mix well and mash it with the spoon.
- Finally add little tomato ketchup and chopped coriander leaves.
- Remove from the stove and let it cool down.
- Now cut the pastry sheet into rectangle shape.
- Place 2 tsp of masala.
- Apply water on the sides to seal the edges.
- Cover and press on the sides using fingers.
- Arrange it on the baking tray lined with aluminium foil.
- Brush the top of the pastry sheet with milk.
- Preheat the oven and bake at 180 degree celsius for around 20-25 minutes.
- Tasty, hot vegetable puff is ready.Serve it with hot cup of tea and enjoy!
