MINI WHEAT SAMOSA
Samosa is a popular indian snack, which has potato stuffing inside. The outer layer is made of atta/flour and is deep fried in oil.
In this post, we are going to see how to make crispy north indian style mini samosa. Friends, do give a try to this recipe and share your feedback.
INGREDIENTS:
For dough:
Wheat flour - 3/4 cup
Semolina /Sooji - 1/4 cup
Salt - as required
Ajwain - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Warm water - as required
For Masala:
Oil - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Chopped green chilly - 2
Grated ginger - 1/2 inch piece
Hing - a pinch
Green peas - 2 tbsp
Boiled potato - 2
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
Amchur powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - as required
Chopped Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
Recipe:
- In a bowl, add wheat flour, sooji, salt.
- Crush ajwain between palm and add it.
- Add little oil and mix well until you could hold shape.
- Now add warm warm water little by little and knead it to a soft dough.
- Grease little oil on the top of the dough.
- Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile in a pan, add little oil.
- Add cumin seeds, chopped green chilly, grated ginger and a generous pinch of hing.
- Once its fried well, add fresh green peas and saute for just 1 or 2 minutes.
- Now add boiled potato and all masala powders.
- Saute well until everything is well combined.
- Add required salt and finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Let it cool down.
- Now roll the dough which we have prepared already into log shape.
- Cut into small equal pieces.
- Flatten each piece into oval shape and roll it as thin as possible.
- Cut into two.
- Take one half, apply water on sides and roll into cone shape.
- Keep 1 or 2 tsp of masala inside.
- Apply water on the sides and seal the edges.
- Now deep fry these in oil at medium flame.
- Turn sides and fry until golden brown.
- Crispy, tasty wheat samosas are ready to serve.
