 Coriander Mint Chutney

Ingredients:

Oil - 1 tbsp

Urad dhal - 1 tsp

Green Chilly - 1 (increase as per your spicy level)

Mint leaves - a bunch (40gm)

Coriander leaves - a bunch (40gm)

Grated coconut - 1/2 cup

Tamarind - a small piece

Salt - as required 


For seasoning :

Oil - 1 tbsp

Mustard - 1/2 tsp

Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp

Red chilly - 1

Curry leaves - few


Recipe:

  1. In a pan, add little oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add urad dhal and green chilly.
  3. Let it fry in oil for few seconds.
  4. Now add washed mint and coriander leaves.
  5. Saute until it shrinks.
  6. Add grated coconut, a small piece of tamarind and mix well for around 1 minute.
  7. Remove from stove and let it cool down completely.
  8. Now add to a mixie jar and grind it to a fine paste.
  9. Transfer to a bowl.
  10. For seasoning , in  a pan, add little oil.
  11. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  12. Add urad dhal, red chilly, few curry leaves.
  13. Fry well and add it to the chutney.
  14. Coriander mint chutney is ready to serve. This goes well with dosa, idly and even variety rice like curd rice.
