- Mix everything well.
- Take a small portion of it and flatten it into a circle shaped tikki.
- Now shallow/deep fry in oil. Check if the oil is hot before frying by dropping a small portion. It should rise immediately.
- Carefully drop the ticks and fry in medium flame.
- When one side is done, turn it to the other side.
- Serve hot and tasty aloo tikki with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
Notes:
- If you don’t have chaat masala, you can add 1/4 tsp of coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala each and 1 tbsp of lemon juice.
- Make sure to boil the potatoes until firm , it should not become soggy. So once the pressure is released, take the potatoes out of water and cool down completely.
- The temperature of the oil should be correct, if not the tikki will become oily. So make sure the oil is hot before dropping in the tikki. After placing the tikki in oil, fry in medium flame, otherwise there is a chance that it might get burn.
