Two layer cake



In today's post, we will see how to make a two layer tea cake with chocolate and vanilla flavour. This recipe doesn’t require any electric beater, just a hand whisk is enough to beat the eggs. Friends, do give a try to this easy recipe and share your valuable feedback.


Ingredients :

Egg - 3

Sugar - 3/4 cup

Vanilla essence - 1 tsp

Softened butter - 1/2 cup ( 100 gm)

All purpose flour - 1 cup

Baking powder - 1 1/2 tsp

Salt - 1/4 tsp

Milk - 2 tbsp

Dark chocolate - 100 gm 




Recipe :

  1. Beat eggs well until frothy. It will take around 5 minutes.
  2. Add in sugar and beat well until light and fluffy .
  3. Add in vanilla essence and softened butter and mix well.
  4. Now sift all purpose flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. Mix everything well using a hand whisk.
  6. Scrape the sides of the bowl  using a spatula.
  7. Now oil or butter the baking tray and line with a butter/ parchment sheet. 
  8. Pour in half of the cake batter .
  9. Level it with spatula. 
  10. Keep it aside.
  11. Now add melted dark chocolate to the remaining batter.
  12. Mix well and pour in the baking tray above the vanilla cake batter.
  13. Level it with a spatula or a spoon.
  14. Now preheat the oven and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for around 50 minutes .
  15. Check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick or a knife.
  16. Once the cake is cooled down , cut into pieces and enjoy !
