HOW TO MAKE IDLY BATTER IN MIXIE | SOFT IDLY RECIPE

In this recipe, we will see how to make soft idly in mixie. This method is very easy and yields soft idly. Friends, do give a try to this easy method and share your valuable feedback.



Ingredients:

Urad dhal - 1/2 cup

Idly rice - 2 cups

Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp

Cooked rice - 1/2 cup






Recipe:


  1. Rinse the urad dhal well in water.
  2. Add water and soak for 4 hours.
  3. In a separate bowl, add idly rice and fenugreek seeds. 
  4. Wash well and soak in water for 4 hours.
  5. Now grind urad dhal in a mixie jar by adding little water.
  6. Pour into a bowl.
  7. Now add the soaked idly rice into a mixie jar along with half cup cooked rice .
  8. Grind this to a fine paste and add into the same bowl.
  9. Add required salt and mix well.
  10. Now let the batter ferment for minimum 8 hours.
  11. Once its fermented well, mix well.
  12. Grease the idly plates with little oil.
  13. Pour the idly batter in the plates using a ladle.
  14. Now steam cook for 10 minutes.
  15. Hot, soft idly is ready to be served! Enjoy with hot sambar and chutney.
