IDLY BATTER
In this recipe, we will see how to make soft idly in mixie. This method is very easy and yields soft idly. Friends, do give a try to this easy method and share your valuable feedback.
Ingredients:
Urad dhal - 1/2 cup
Idly rice - 2 cups
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cooked rice - 1/2 cup
Recipe:
- Rinse the urad dhal well in water.
- Add water and soak for 4 hours.
- In a separate bowl, add idly rice and fenugreek seeds.
- Wash well and soak in water for 4 hours.
- Now grind urad dhal in a mixie jar by adding little water.
- Pour into a bowl.
- Now add the soaked idly rice into a mixie jar along with half cup cooked rice .
- Grind this to a fine paste and add into the same bowl.
- Add required salt and mix well.
- Now let the batter ferment for minimum 8 hours.
- Once its fermented well, mix well.
- Grease the idly plates with little oil.
- Pour the idly batter in the plates using a ladle.
- Now steam cook for 10 minutes.
- Hot, soft idly is ready to be served! Enjoy with hot sambar and chutney.
