Aloo Parata Recipe| how to make aloo parata


Aloo parata is an Indian flat bread recipe made of wheat flour stuffed with boiled potatoes mixed with masalas. It is cooked by drizzling ghee on it. It is usually served for breakfast . Please give a try and let us know how it turns out . 


Ingredients :

Ghee - as required (for drizzling )

For dough :

Wheat flour - 1 cup
Salt - 1/4 tsp 
Water -  as required 

For potato stuffing :

Boiled potato - 2
Green chilly - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Amchur powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - as required 
Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp

Recipe :

1. In a bowl , add wheat flour and little salt .
2. Mix well .
3. Then add water little by little and knead it to a soft dough.
4. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
5. Meanwhile prepare the aloo ( potato ) stuffing .
6. In a bowl , add boiled potatoes. Mash it well .
7. To that , add green chilly , ginger garlic paste , turmeric powder , chilly powder , coriander powder , cumin powder , garam masala , amchur powder , required salt and chopped coriander leaves .
8. Mix well and keep it aside .
9. Now prepare small balls from the kneaded dough .
10. Flatten it with rolling pin to small circle shape .
11. Keep a tbsp of aloo ( potato ) stuffing on it .
12. Seal the edges as shown in the video .
13. Roll it again to circle shape . 
14. On a hot tawa, cook the parata by drizzling ghee .
15. Flip over the parata and cook on both sides .
16. Aloo paratas are ready to be served ! This goes well with yogurt and pickle .
